Police break up biker gang fight

On Sunday afternoon around 3:00 p.m. the Philadelphia Police responded to a fight at the Sheraton Hotel at 17th and Race Streets. Police tell Action News there is was a tattoo convention going on at the hotel.

Undercover police were monitoring two rival biker gangs inside of the hotel.

When they sensed that a fight was going to take place they called in back up.

The fight broke out and the police had sufficient back up to get the fight under control quickly.

Some people in the fight were arrested.

In a related story, a Philadelphia police officer responding to the fight lost control of his police cruiser and got into an accident at the intersection of 15th and Poplar in the Fairmount section.

The officer appears to not have been injured.
