Police shoot suspect in leg

This afternoon around 5:00 p.m., the Philadelphia Police were called out to the 4100 block of Hellerman Street for the report of a shooting. When they arrived they found two suspects leaving a home after a home invasion.

One suspect took off on foot. The other had his hands in his jacket and pointed at police as if he had a gun. The police shot him in the leg.

The suspect then somehow got into a police cruiser and drove off down Charles Street. He crashed the vehicle four blocks away on the 4100 block of Barnett Street.

Police then took him into custody. He was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

The victim of the robbery is suffering from a gun shot wound to the buttocks; he was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
