Phillies soar over Blue Jays

Ryan Howard hit his second home run of the spring in a six-run sixth inning as the Philadelphia Phillies outslugged the Toronto Blue Jays, 12-7, in a Grapefruiit League contest.

Jeremy Slayden also homered in the sixth for the Phillies and finished with two hits and a pair of RBI.

Phillies starter J. A. Happ tossed three innings, giving up two runs and three hits, including a solo homer to Adam Lind.

Toronto's Kevin Millar and Bradley Emaus homered off Phillies reliever Carlos Carrasco, who surrendered three runs in three innings.

Jeremy Accardo, the Blue Jays' third pitcher, was tagged for seven runs in two frames.
