The blaze injured five people.
It broke out at about 2:30 Tuesday morning in a house on the 1700 block of Ingersoll Street.
At one point two women, ages 47 and 58, had to jump from the second and third floors to escape the flames.
They are in Hahnemann Hospital where there's no word on their conditions.
One of the five injured people suffered second degree burns.
The fire also damaged two neighboring homes.
Investigators are trying to determine if the injured were living in the house legally, or were squatters.
