Man shot twice, killed in Southwest Phila.

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA - March 3, 2009 The victim, identified as 33-year-old Charles Brown, was shot twice in the chest around 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of South 56th Street and Belmar Street.

A suspect was seen fleeing the scene northbound on Belmar Street.

Brown was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead.

At least 23 gun casings littered the scene, evidence police say that an automatic weapon was used in the shooting.

Philadelphia homicide detectives are investigating.
