Firefighters battled a blaze in the Feltonville section of Philadelphia that destroyed the second floor apartments of a grocery store and caused smoke and water damage to the store. The fire broke out just after midnight in the 4600 block of Boudinot Street in a second floor apartment located above the Thang Len grocery store; heavy smoke and flames poured from the second floor of the building destroying the upper floor.

Smoke and water caused extensive damage to the grocery store. There were no injuries reported PECO crews were called in to investigate the fire along with the fire marshal's office.

The apartment was the scene of a recent gambling raid by police and members of License and Inspections.
