Freight train derails in NE Pa., no one hurt

SCRANTON, Pa. (AP) - March 9, 2009 Lackawanna County Emergency Management Agency director Bob Flanagan says about five cars from a Canadian Pacific Railway freight train went off the rails around noon on Monday. No one was hurt.

Flanagan says the cars appeared to be carrying only lumber and some SUVs and there is no public danger.

He says a crane will probably be needed to right the cars and traffic on the line could be tied up for about a day.
