Funny videos with serious warning

March 10, 2009

Now the Federal Trade Commission is issuing its own warning with its own catchy videos. The FTC videos are meant to be funny spoofs of commercials like FreeCreditReport.com's but they carry a serious message, too.

The FTC spots highlight the differences between the government-sanctioned AnnualCreditReport.com and those other sites that claim to provide free credit reports.

According to the FTC other sites require consumers to pay hidden fees or subscribe to additional services. For example, as Action News told you last month Freecreditreport.com automatically enroll and bills consumers for Experian's TripleAdvantage credit monitoring program unless consumers cancel within the first 7 days.
