MOUNT AIRY - March 10, 2009

The first of the four indecent assaults took place last June at 8:00 am along the 7000 block of Germantown Avenue.

"We had a 14-year-old going to school approached from behind … as a jogger indecent assault went past her," said Lt. Thomas McDevitt of the Special Victims Unit.

Two days before Christmas near the 6600 block of Boyer the man struck again. It was 5:25 in the evening and the victim was waiting for a bus.

Two months later the attacker returned to Germantown Avenue, police say this was a morning assault in the 7400 block. Then less than 30 days later, last Friday; the 4th incident reportedly took place a block to the north.

"In last incident grab by arm, pull him, may be escalating everyone aware of this."

The victims are all teenage girls, two of them are 14-years-old and the other two are 17-years-old. All were alone at the time. One was waiting for the bus and the other three others were on their way to school.

"This is a well traveled area people out especially in the morning, I have a 16-year-old, get the word out," said Wayne Sachs.

Police are working on a sketch of the suspect. He is described as a black male who could be as old as 50, 6'5", some of the victims noticed a beard and some noticed glasses. On Friday he was reportedly wearing a navy blue sweatshirt with red triangles down his sleeve.

The police are asking anyone with information about the man to call the Special Victims Unit.
