Man facing death weeps as relatives testify

LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) - March 11, 2009 A sentencing hearing began Tuesday in Lancaster for 20-year-old Abraham Sanchez Jr. of Elizabethtown. Sanchez was convicted Monday of killing 65-year-old Ray Diener at the front door of his home in May of 2007.

Witnesses described how Sanchez was abused at home and picked on at school. His sister said when she asked him why he doesn't show love, "He said he doesn't know what love is."

The defense argues Sanchez should get life in prison because of his age and background. The prosecution says the fact that Diener was shot during a robbery calls for the death penalty.
