Man throws knife at judge in court

YORK, Pa. (AP) - March 11, 2009 Terry Lee Rehm hurled a 13-inch meat knife at York County Judge Michael Brillhart on July 6, 2006. The knife flew about 50 feet, hitting a wooden panel wall and just missing the judge and a court employee.

Rehm's attorney, Thomas Korey Leslie, told the jury on Tuesday he doesn't dispute what happened. But, he said, Rehm "had no idea what he was doing."

Prosecutors concede that Rehm is mentally ill but say he does not meet the legal insanity definition.

Brillhart had sentenced Rehm to prison in 2004 for accosting a woman in a stenographer room at the courthouse.
