Ex-football star, actor Bosworth charged with DUI

LOS ANGELES (AP) - March 11, 2009 City attorney spokesman Frank Mateljan says Bosworth was charged Wednesday with two misdemeanor counts in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Mateljan says the former National Football League linebacker was riding his motorcycle Friday when police stopped him in Hollywood for not having a front license plate.

If convicted, Bosworth faces six months in jail.

The 44-year-old Bosworth played for the Oklahoma Sooners from 1984 to 1986 before retiring three years into a 10-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks because of a shoulder injury.

Bosworth, known for his earrings and blond Mohawk haircut, appeared in such films as "Stone Cold," "Three Kings" and "The Longest Yard."

A phone message was left with Bosworth's agent.
