Problem with livestock in the city

OPELOUSAS, La. (AP) - March 12, 2009

A code enforcement officer says her office has been bombarded with complaints about noise and stink from horses, goats, sheep and pigs.

She wants an ordinance against keeping livestock within city limits.

One alderman says he's been getting calls too, and that a horse recently got loose and kicked a neighbor's dog to death.

The mayor was quoted in the Daily World as saying the government should be "sensitive but firm."
