One person is dead and three wounded following a shooting in a barroom in the southeastern Pennsylvania city of Reading.

Police say the shooting took place just before 1:45 a.m. Friday during a fight at the Whipping Post Pub on North 11th Street.

Investigators say 31-year-old Gilberto Vasquez was pronounced dead at the scene. They say he was shot once in the head.

Sgt. Felix Carr says he was responding to a call of shots fired and saw people running from the bar and cars speeding away as he approached.

It is not clear whether the four victims were involved in the fight or were bystanders.

The names of the injured have not been released. They were taken to Reading Hospital for treatment.
