Nutter: Don't blame city for gambling delays

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - March 13, 2009 Nutter's remarks on Friday came just days after Gov. Ed Rendell said he would seriously consider signing a bill to stop gambling dollars from flowing to Philadelphia if the delays continue. No such bill is under serious consideration in the Legislature.

Nutter says there are "no barriers" from the city for the casinos that Foxwoods and Sugarhouse plan to open. Pennsylvania is home to seven slots casinos, and two more are set to open later this year in Bethlehem and Pittsburgh.
