Detroit Pistons owner Davidson dies at age 86

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) - March 13, 2009 The Ira Kaufman Chapel Funeral Home says services are scheduled for Tuesday at Congregation Shaarey Zedek in Southfield.

Davidson became majority owner of the Pistons in 1974. He also owned Palace Sports & Entertainment, the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning and WNBA's Detroit Shock.

Forbes magazine had ranked the Bloomfield Hills billionaire as one of the richest people in Michigan, tied for 68th in the country.
