Body found in South Philadelphia home

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - March 16, 2009 The body was discovered at approximately 11:30 Sunday night in a home on the 1700 block of South 22nd Street.

According to police, a 21-year-old woman told them that around 11:28 Sunday night a man forced her inside her home. She said the man then proceeded to rape her.

She told police that during the assault a third person entered the home, observed the rape taking place, and hit the suspected rapist on the head with a shovel - killing him.

Police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
