Delaware man wanted for stalking

NEWARK, Del. - March 17, 2009 - The warrant was issued for William Dericco, 42, after police were called to the Cavalier Country Club Apartments on Monday for a report of a domestic dispute.

When they arrived they made contact with the 20-year-old female victim.

She told police Dericco had been stalking her for more than a year, and she had Dericco arrested in the past, but said he continue to violate his no-contact order.

Police say their investigation revealed Dericco has called the victim from more than 20 different phone numbers in an effort to speak with her.

Each time, investigators say, the victim has had to have the phone numbers "blocked" so he could not call her from the number again.

According to the victim, Dericco has attempted to contact her at various times over the past week.

Police say Dericco was arrested in August of 2008 for harassing the victim and subsequently ordered to have no contact with the victim. Officers discovered he ignored the court order and has gone so far as to move into an adjacent apartment building near the victim.

Authorities are now searching for Dericco. To offer information regarding his whereabouts, please contact the New Castle County Police Department at 302-395-8110
