The local marine arrived at Philadelphia International Airport this morning to smiles and tears from family and friends. They took his picture. A banner hailed him as a hero.
Remmell smiled and joked with Action News that the weather here is much nicer than in Iraq. He has served 15 months there, deactivating improvised explosive devices intended to kill or mame his fellow marines.
Remmell said he will miss them, but is happy to see different faces.
He will enjoy a cheeseburger or two, and home sweet home, before deploying to Afghanistan next year.
