Furniture store standoff

BARRINGTON, N.J. – March 17, 2009

That's where a former employee of a furniture store held an armed standoff with police.

Barrington Township police had their guns drawn outside the furniture factory warehouse. The Camden County prosecutor says a disgruntled employee made some sort of threat and a source and other employees say he was armed with a gun. Dennis Quigley was working in the back of the warehouse when his boss came running.

"He said everyone get in the office, get down."

They waited and a short time later police stormed into the warehouse with guns drawn.

"They came in with their lights and said put your hands on your head and they frisked us."

As police waited for the suspect to surrender workers who managed to get out of the building and nearby residents gathered outside.

The standoff ended peacefully, no one hurt. The suspect is in custody.
