A security guard checking a Delaware store parking lot late Tuesday night found a man slumped over the steering wheel of a car. The man, identified as 19-year-old Justin D. Trnka, was rushed to Christiana Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say Trnka died as a result of a gun shot wound to the upper torso.

Trnka lived in the Pencader Village neighborhood.

He was found just before 10:00 Tuesday night in the rear parking area of the BJ's Wholesale store at 10 Pencader Plaza on Route 72 in Newark.

The motor of the Chevrolet Cavalier he was in was still running.

Investigators are asking that anyone who saw anything unusual in the parking lot on Tuesday night call state police.
