Get ready for Scrapplefest!

PHILADELPHIA - March 19, 2009

The Down Home Diner serves hundreds of pounds of scrapple every week.Most of it traditionally grilled and served with eggs.

The market's demonstration kitchen, La Cucina will add scrapple to an Italian frittata. It's an egg creation with asparagus green onions and cheese.

Fair Food Farmstand will be dishing up its "vrapple", a vegetarian product made from mushrooms.

Carmen's Famous, the market's steak and hoagie shop, is working on a scrapple pizza steak for Saturday.

Is there any chance scrapple will join the steaks and subs on Carmen's regular menu?

"No!" according to Carmen DiGuglielmo, Carmen's owner.
