Philadelphia firefighters were called out to battle a blaze in the city's Olney section this morning. Fire struck an apartment building in the 5800 block of North 2nd Street.

Fire crews were called out around 5:20 a.m., and upon arrival they found flames shooting from the first floor of the 2-story building.

The fire was placed under control around 5:45 a.m.

2 of the apartment building's 10 units were damaged in the blaze.

Residents were taken to the nearby Lowell School for housing while firefighters were at the scene. The Red Cross has been called to assist 10 people who have been displaced by the fire.

Luckily, no injuries have been reported. Officials say the alarm system in the building was working.
