She was found in 1994, didn't speak English and suffering from Alzheimer's. Lt. Eduardo Ojeda of the New Jersey Department of Human Services police never gave up trying to find the name of the well-dressed elderly woman.

Unable to speak and diagnosed with Alzheimer's, the woman has been bedridden in a New Jersey psychiatric hospital since she was found at the Woodbridge Center mall.

Ojeda discovered recently that the woman is 74-year-old Elba Leonor Diaz Soccarras, a Colombian immigrant who struggled for years as a single mother and factory worker.

Tips from the public and Colombian officials helped establish her identity.
