PA contractors need to register

HARRISBURG, Pa. - March 24, 2009 - The registration is necessary to comply with the Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act, which goes into effect July 1st.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Tom Corbett said that the intent of the Act is to protect consumers from unscrupulous contractors, provide new protection for consumers who hire home improvement contractors and authorize criminal penalties for home improvement fraud.

Contractors can register at the Pennsylvania Attorney General's website, or by submitting a completed application form to:
