"Letters from Black America"

"Letters from Black America" edited by Pamela Newkirk is an intimate look at black history.

"Letters from Black America" is the first-ever narrative of African-Americans sharing their thoughts on the monumental changes that have taken place in this country.

Politicians, entertainers, writers and service men, and even slaves will share their letters with readers.

Pamela Newkirk is also the editor of "A Love No Less" and the author of "Within the Veil", which won the National Press Club Award for Media Criticism.

Newkirk is an award-winning journalist and associate professor at New York University.
