Delaware man charged with drug trafficking

NEW CASTLE, Del. - March 26, 2009 Damien J. August of Louise Road was arrested Thursday March 19th during a motor vehicle stop as he was leaving his home. With August safely in custody, officers entered his home with a search warrant where they seized a large quantity of narcotics.

The following items were seized:

  • Approximately 801.1 grams of powder cocaine
  • Approximately 380.4 grams of packaged marijuana
  • 17.5 Xanax pills
  • $17,934.00 in U.S. Currency
  • One (1) 1990 Harley Davidson motorcycle
  • One (1) 2001 Indian motorcycle
  • One (1) 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle
  • One (1) 2005 Dodge Ram truck

    The narcotics investigation in August's neighborhood, Chelsea Estates, had been ongoing since December of 2008. Members of the drug force quickly focused their attention on Damien J. August.

    Damien August was formally charged on March 20th with Trafficking Cocaine (felony), Possession with the Intent to Deliver Cocaine (felony), Possession with the Intent to Deliver Marijuana (felony), Maintaining a Dwelling for Keeping Narcotics (felony), Maintaining a Vehicle for Keeping Narcotics (felony), Possession of Narcotics (misdemeanor) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (misdemeanor).

    He was committed to the Howard Young Correctional Institute in lieu of $1.6 million dollars bail.
