State Police allege 25-year-old Shawn Williams of Oxford Circle fraudulently obtained several thousand state safety and emission stickers from PennDOT, while employed at Amco Motor Sales in Port Richmond.
Police say he opened a business checking account in the name of the dealership, and then bought thousands of inspection stickers without the owner's knowledge.
The stickers were then put on cars, salvaged by Williams at his body shop in Kensington.
State Police believe some stickers may have been sold on Philadelphia Streets, netting Williams up to $100 on each sale.
Police are trying to find vehicles that may have been re-titled without inspection.
