Grandma back in Del. to face abduction charges

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - March 28, 2009 New Castle County police say 64-year-old Lenore Matusiewicz faces up to six years in prison. Police say she was flown from Florida to Philadelphia by U.S. Marshals and returned to Delaware on Friday.

She was arrested along with her son, former Newark optometrist David Matusiewicz, in Nicaragua earlier this month. Her son remains in custody in Florida awaiting extradition.

Investigators say the two fled the country in 2007 with Matusiewicz's three young daughters after he told his ex-wife, with whom he shared custody, that he was taking them to Disney World.
