Annual toad migration in Roxborough

March 29, 2009 8:15:03 AM PDT
The Action Cam was out in Roxborough around 4:00 this morning where the Philadelphia Streets Department had closed down part of Port Royal Avenue and Eva Street due to the annual toad migration. The migration is a mating ritual that occurs around this time every year when the toads leave the woods in the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Education and head to the Roxborough Reservoir to find a toad of the opposite sex.

Apparently rainy weather and warmer weather all help.

The street closure was spearheaded by Lisa Levinson.
