KHARTOUM, Sudan
Spokesman Ali Youssef told The Associated Press that President
Omar al-Bashir was heading to Qatar on Sunday afternoon for the
summit, which begins Monday. He didn't provide more details, and
there was no immediate confirmation from the tiny Gulf nation of
Qatar.
The 22-member Arab League has already said it would not enforce
the International Criminal Court's arrest order for al-Bashir
issued on March 4 and the Sudanese leader visited Eritrea, Egypt
and Libya over the past week in a show of defiance.
