A man was arrested Tuesday night after police say he tried to rob undercover officers disguised as food delivery drivers.Investigators say there have been a series of robberies and attempted robberies of food delivery drivers along the Route 9 corridor.

Police started working with restaurants in the area, and were tipped off to a suspicious order placed last night to be delivered to an address on Simonds Drive.

Officers established a perimeter around the community, while undercover officers began driving around the neighborhood in a regular car.

After a few passes police say the suspect, Henry Johnson, 18, stepped out from behind a truck and waved the officers down.

Authorities say once Johnson saw there were police inside the car, he ran off. Officers caught up to him, stopped him, and found a large knife, a capped gun, and other items that linked him to the attempted robberies.

Johnson has been linked to a total of three attempted robberies, one robbery in the first degree, aggravated menacing, three counts of possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and three counts of wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony.

He has been arraigned and committed to the Howard Young Prison after failing to post an $80,000 secured bail.
