Students suspended over pot incident

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA - April 1, 2009 - Police say a 10-year-old boy, a fourth grader, brought the pot into the Thomas Morton Elementary School on Tuesday.

Investigators say he then gave it to two fourth grade girls and one third grade boy.

This was uncovered, investigators say, after the assistant principal received a tip by a student about the drugs.

The four children have been suspended pending the investigation.

The 10-year-old who brought in the pot may be sent to an alternative disciplinary classroom.
