Chess champs are on the road

They had the moves, so all they needed was the money.Now, they have it.

The chess team from the Russell Byers Charter School in Center City left Thursday morning for a national competition in Nashville.

As Action News reported this week, the team won the state title, but needed to raise $10,000 to go to nationals.

As it turns out, an Action News viewer came through with half the money, and the team raised the rest.
