Mrs. Fixit: Potholders

May 02, 2009

If you need to move a heavy piece of furniture on a wood floor slip potholders under the feet, the padding is the perfect choice for protecting the floors while you're sliding the piece around.

If the scissors are always disappearing hang a mitt style potholder inside a closet or cabinet door on a hook. Slip your scissors or even some tape and pens in there so even if your family takes off with the rest of your supplies you can always find your scissors and the table.

The mitt keeps the scissors closed so no one cut while digging around in a drawer and it keeps them out of reach of little hands.

From dusting tables to waxing cars a terrycloth potholder makes a great inexpensive polishing cloth.

A silicone potholder does double duty for loosening stuck jar lids and keeping a bowl from slipping and sliding around while you're mixing.

Keep a potholder near your curling iron if the barrel touches down you don't have to worry about scorching your counter or table.

Now those are some tips that you can hold onto! I'm Mrs. Fixit and it's just that simple!
