A military helicopter performed an emergency landing this afternoon on the athletic fields of Springfield High School in Montgomery County. Initial reports had indicated there had been a crash at the school, located on Paper Mill Road in Springfield Township. But upon arrival on scene officials found that the helicopter had made a soft landing.

The emergency landing was made as a precaution when an indicator light inside the helicopter went off while flying.

The chopper was headed to Willow Gove Naval Air Station.

There are no reported injuries.
