Officer assaulted while tailgating

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - April 5, 2009 - Philadelphia police officers were called out around 6:45 p.m. to parking lot "M' at 700 Pattison Avenue near Citizens Bank Park for a report of a fight.

When they arrived they found a man who was kicked and punched in the head repeatedly.

Police then learned of his status as a Camden police officer, and that he was tailgating before the game.

The officer, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for a treatment.

Detectives have one person in custody.
