MIAMI (AP) - April 6, 2009 Coast Guard Public Affairs Officer Lt. Matt Moorlag says
searchers found the body of a little girl Monday afternoon, hours
after authorities recovered the body of a man who fits the
description of the father.
Authorities believe the bodies are those of Phil Burke, 49, and
his daughter, Tara Ann Burke. They left the Black Point Marina in
south Miami-Dade County on Sunday afternoon in a 17-foot Key West
boat. When the pair didn't return later that evening, family
members called authorities.
The Coast Guard said late Monday that it has stopped searching
for the missing boaters.
