Flags at half-staff for firefighter

All New Jersey flags flew at half-staff Thursday in honor of fallen firefighter Manny Rivera.Rivera died on March 31st after suffering a heart attack while fighting a fire in Trenton on February 9th.

That night, Manny Rivera rescued a man hanging from a third story window.

Shortly afterward he collapsed, and lingered in a coma for seven weeks.

The one-day directive to state departments came from Gov. Jon Corzine.

Rivera was a 14-year veteran and father of five.

According to the city, Rivera is the first Trenton firefighter in 23 years to die from actions while in the line of duty.
