Police in Byram in west-central New Jersey stopped a car this week for driving under the posted speed limit in the left lane of a highway.
After noticing a small amount of marijuana in the car, they searched it and found crack cocaine, a scale and a handgun.
Police tell Gannett New Jersey that the driver and three passengers, all from New York City, were charged with a variety of offenses including unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute.
They were being held on bail amounts ranging from $75,000 to $150,000.
