Witnesses say a woman was lurking outside by the gates this morning when an 18-year-old woman went into the daycare to drop off her son. As she was coming out the door the woman who was lurking outside rushed toward her and stabbed her multiple times in the head and neck.
The victim was rushed to Temple University Hospital, having suffered six to seven stab wounds. She is currently listed in critical condition.
Police have launched an all points search for the assailant. They know who they are looking for, and police say it is a woman who has had some bad history with the victim.
Late Monday afternoon, investigators said that woman is the victim's sister.
Action News is told all the children were inside the building when the attack occurred, including the victim's son. Therefore, none of the children witnessed the violence that unfolded outside.
