Roosevelt Dogs: Canines take to the street

Motorists on the Southbound Roosevelt Boulevard Extension had an unusual traffic problem early Thursday evening. A trio of dogs, white German Shepherds, ran onto the southbound lanes near Ridge Avenue just after 6:00 p.m.

Animal control and Philadelphia Police were called into rescue the dogs.

All three dogs were rescued by animal control within a half hour.

The dogs are now being cared for by animal control In Hunting Park.

Someone has called animal control to claim the dogs, but animal control has not yet verified ownership.
