Police: Mom turned tricks; boy, 7, watched

A suburban Philadelphia woman is accused of selling sex in a motel room while her 7-year-old son sometimes watched. Thirty-six-year-old Catherine Thomas was held on $20,000 bail Monday on charges of prostitution, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, and child endangerment.

Bensalem Public Safety Director Fred Harran says Thomas and her son had lived at the motel near Neshaminy Mall for about three months, and the room was filled with garbage, dirty underwear and food.

Harran says Thomas put her son in a filthy shower stall to play with toys while she entertained men. The boy told him "he would have to ask God for forgiveness for what he saw his mother did."

The boy was turned over to Bucks County Family Services.
