NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin hit 110 in a Toyota Camry hybrid down the backstretch at Lowe's Motor Speedway.
It was part of an Earth Day-related demonstration.
The hybrid will be the official pace car in next month's Coca-Cola 600, at the North Carolina track.
It's the first time a hybrid will be used as a pace car in a NASCAR race.
Hamlin was offering rides yesterday, as he demonstrated the capabilities of the gas-electric car.
He says it's a "pretty smooth ride."
