The blaze broke out inside anthony's pizza and grill at the corner of 11th and Ludlow Streets.
A police officer first noticed the fire at about 1:30 Friday morning and radioed for help.
Flames damaged the shop and smoke damaged the three floors above the shop.
Firefighters managed to gain control of the fast-moving blaze in about 15 minutes.
There are no reports of injuries and no word yet on a cause.
