Truck fire closes I-78 in Lehigh County

A truck fire has closed a major highway in the Lehigh County. A 4-mile stretch of Interstate 78 in Lehigh County is closed tonight after a tractor-trailer carrying hazardous materials caught fire.

It happened around 8:15 p.m. on I-78 eastbound in Upper Macungie Township.

Pennsylvania State Police say the truck caught fire near Mile marker 47.

There are no injuries, but the fire and the materials in the truck closed four miles of the interstate in both directions.
