Alycia Lane's lawsuit to proceed

A civil suit filed by a former news anchor against the co-anchor who hacked into her e-mail account to damage her reputation will go to court in Philadelphia. A federal judge says former KYW-TV anchor Alycia Lane's civil suit against fired co-anchor Larry Mendte and station officials will be moved to the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. The suit also names CBS Broadcasting and a Philadelphia newspaper columnist.

Lane claims invasion of privacy in the suit. Mendte was sentenced to six months of house arrest in November after admitting to reading Lane's e-mail hundreds of times and leaking personal information to the press.

The station fired Lane in January after she was arrested in New York following a scuffle with police. Those charges were later dropped.
