Police reopen section of I-76 again

LOWER MERION, Pa. - May 4, 2009 The fire hit around 1:30 p.m. between Conshohocken and Belmont. Police had the highway closed there in both directions.Officials didn't want the fire to spread through wires down to the railroad tracks and across the Schuylkill Epressway.

So far there are no reports of injuries and no word yet what sparked the fire on the pole.

The highway was reopened shortly before 2 p.m.

Then, police closed the highway again, forcing westbound traffic off of the Schuylkill Expressway at City Avenue. That detour was in place for roughly 10 minutes, and then officers reopened the westbound lanes of I-76 again.
