Correctional officer faces drug charges

DOVER, Del. (AP) - May 5, 2009 Dover police spokesman Lt. Tim Stump said Monday that internal affairs at the prison contacted Dover police with information about Sidney Nunn of Smyrna.

Stump says when Nunn was arrested in the Dover Mall parking lot on Saturday, officers found more than 25 grams of marijuana he had intended to smuggle into the prison.

Nunn is charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle, conspiracy, possession of drug paraphernalia and promoting prison contraband. He was released after posting $8,000 bail.

Corrections officials say Nunn is on leave with pay.
