Hit & run kills 20-year-old man

HUNTING PARK- May 7, 2009 The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

It happened around 2:00 a.m.

Investigators say an older model van, possibly a Chrysler with tinted windows, ran over the man as he tried to cross the Boulevard.

A witness told police that the van just kept on going.

The van apparently had the green light, since it wasn't caught on a red light camera.

Authorities don't know who the victim is. He was not carrying any identification. Investigators will check his fingerprints, but there may not be a match if he never was arrested.

A piece of his damaged cell phone earlier in the day. The rest of the phone was found by Action News.

Police say the van has a broken right headlight, a cracked windshield and a missing antenna.

If you see the van described in this report, police want you to call them right away by dialing 911.
